UPDATE: Uralkali to raise potash chloride capacity to 15 mln tns/yr by 2025

MOSCOW, Oct 7 (PRIME) -- Russian fertilizer producer Uralkali plans to expand production capacities to 15 million tonnes of potassium chloride per year until 2025, the company said in a Eurobond prospectus seen by PRIME on Monday.

“The group is now implementing a large-scale development program in order to maintain its leading position on the global market of potash fertilizers and to achieve organic growth. The program includes expansion of existing projects and new projects as well, and it is aimed at expanding the combined annual production capacity of the group to 15 million tonnes until 2025 for the total cost of U.S. $2.4 billion,” the prospectus read.

In case the company makes a decision before 2023 to start implementation of the second stage of the Polovodovsky potash project, Uralkali’s production capacity may grow to 17.8 million tonnes until 2030.

The company also said in the prospectus that its combined capital expenditures may reach about $3 billion in 2020–2025, of which operating costs and other capital expenditures should account for $1.6 billion with the remaining $1.4 billion to be spent on expansion of production capacities.
